FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01/

HOW LONG ARE THERAPY SESSIONS?

Therapy sessions are generally 45-60 minutes. If we are finding that is generally not enough time, then we may suggest an additional session weekly.

02/

HOW OFTEN WOULD I BE ATTENDING THERAPY?

Initially, we start with weekly therapy sessions. Dependent on need we may increase frequency.

03/

HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY?

It depends on consistency of attendance, progress towards goals, and improvement in functioning.

04/

WHY DO YOU ASK ALL THESE PERSONAL QUESTIONS?

We find that it is best to get a full view of our clients. While the presenting problem (the reason you came in) is at the forefront, it is helpful for us to get a thorough background and an understanding of what historical factors impact your character, perception, and functioning.

05/

WHAT INSURANCES ARE ACCEPTED?

Currently we accepted Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield Community Options, Aetena PPO, and Cigna. We also fall under some individual’s out of network benefits.

06/

WHY IS THERE A LATE CANCELATION/NO SHOW FEE?

Once your appointment is scheduled that time is set aside for you exclusively. If you cancel your appointment in under 24 hours, it is very difficult–if not impossible–to fill that appointment slot. If you do not attend your session, your clinician does not get paid for that lost time. Your insurance is not responsible for the late cancellation/no show fee.

07/

WHAT DOES PSYD, LCSW, AND/OR LCPC MEAN?

These letters denote different types of licensure. An individual with a PsyD is someone who has their Doctorate degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Clinical Practice. An individual with a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) is someone with a Master's or Doctorate degree in Social Work and has completed the required hours of supervised clinical professional experience. An individual with a LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) is someone who has completed a Master’s degree and required hours of supervised clinical professional experience.

08/

HOW DO I KNOW I WILL BE GETTING QUALITY THERAPY WITH AN INTERN?

Touch of Wholeness Psychological Services LLC is proud to be able to assist up and coming clinicians to reach their potential. We want to stress that any unlicensed individuals are supervised by a PsyD or LCSW. Your clinicians will have the full support and guidance of a licensed individual.

09/

WHAT IS THE OUT OF POCKET COST? IS THERE A SLIDING FEE SCALE?
